MTHA and the Digital Switchover

The transmitter that serices the area of Merthyr Tydfil - the Wenvoe transmitter will begin the digital switchover on Wednesday March 3rd.  In practical terms this means that people living within the transmitter area will begin to lose the service on their TV unless the have upgraded their TV or areial.

With the exception of just 6 properties (where access has proved difficult) MTHA have replaced all their communal areials with digital areials that will enable our tenants to receive the new signal from 3rd March.

In order to receive the digital signal, tenants will either have to have a digital TV which is capable of receiving a digital signal, or have a new areial or set top box.  Anyone who hasn't made the necessary provisions may no longer be able to view their TV properly.

On 3rd March 2010 the BBC2 analogue signal will be switched off and you will need to retune your digital equipment in order to pick up the available channels.

The remaining analogue channels will be switched off on 31st March 2010.   You will need to re-tune your digital equipment again to pick up additional channels.

Should you have any problems with the switchover, then advice is available from the digital switchover website:  www.digitaluk.co.uk
