Happy Retirement Tim

On Friday 19th September 2025, our Director of Operations, Tim Macdermott retired after eleven and a half year with us.

Over the years, Tim worked on projects such as the Riverside Strategic Regeneration Programme, where the 126 homes in Taff and Crescent Street were due for demolition. As an organisation we had to build 66 new homes to relocate our tenants. 23 new homes were delivered in Railway Close, Aberfan, and 43 new homes were later built by Lovell on the colliery site in Merthyr Vale, and Tim helped to oversee this transition. He has supported us with the development of 115 High Street. He has overseen other developments over the years including Adulam Court (phases one and two), East Street, Bryniau Road, and Llysfaen to name but a few.

Tim’s sporting and coaching side has often come out in his years with us. In 2015 he was part of the staff trip that took on the Welsh Three Peaks challenge. His help, support and encouragement on the day and in the build-up, ensured that all involved completed the trip safely. He has often been seen on his bike with team members cycling the Glyneath loop.

Over the years Tim has steered us through the Renting Homes Wales Act, has supported us to adapt to the Living Rents Model and has prepared the managers for the latest Welsh Housing Quality Standards. He has worked with many board members to implement these legislative changes and more.

We thank Tim for his legacy of dedication, kindness, and wisdom and wish him a long and happy retirement.
