Silver PawPrint award, from the RSPCA Cymru

We have done it again, for the 5th year running, Merthyr Housing are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Silver PawPrint award, from the RSPCA Cymru in recognition of our commitment to animal welfare.

We take great pride in achieving this award, and we will strive to ensure even greater levels of animal welfare into the future.

Since 2008, the RSPCA’s PawPrint Awards have been the only award scheme recognising good practice from local authorities, housing providers and contingency planners in relation to animal welfare.

PawPrints celebrates good practice by rewarding those organisations exceeding basic and statutory service requirements with the aim of achieving higher animal welfare standards.

Pawprints covers four areas of service provided by the public sector that has some impact on animal welfare.

They are:

  1. Stray dog services
  2. Housing
  3. Contingency planning
  4. Animal welfare

Each award has three levels -bronze, silver and Gold -which can carry progressively more demanding criteria.
