Excitement, creativity and cultural pride were on full display as the Taff Bargoed Learning Partnership hosted a vibrant and inclusive Eisteddfod for pupils from Bedlinog and Trelewis schools.
This special celebration was made possible through our ongoing development work with Pendragon Design and Build at Springfield Close, Treharris. While the project continues to support vital local housing needs, it is also playing an important role in strengthening Welsh culture and language within the community.
A Celebration for Every Child

Thanks to dedicated funding, all 180 pupils were able to fully participate in the Eisteddfod—ensuring that every child, regardless of background, could take part in this meaningful cultural experience.
The initiative removed barriers often faced by lower-income families by providing:
- Equal access to materials
- Full inclusion for every pupil
- A welcoming and supportive environment
The result was a truly inclusive celebration where each child had the opportunity to feel proud of their heritage and achievements.
Bringing Welsh Culture to Life
The Eisteddfod provided a powerful platform for embedding Welsh culture at the heart of learning. Pupils explored the richness of the Welsh language through poetry, music and performance, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the history and traditions behind the festival.
From recitations and songs to creative classroom activities, the event brought learning to life in an inspiring and memorable way.
Celebrating Talent and Building Confidence
The event was filled with joy and recognition, as pupils’ efforts were celebrated through medals, certificates and prizes. Artwork and writing were proudly displayed, transforming the occasion into a showcase of young talent.
This public celebration not only highlighted creativity but also helped to boost pupils’ confidence and self-esteem, while fostering a stronger sense of cultural identity. For many families, it was a memorable and meaningful experience shared together.
Strengthening Community and Identity
By supporting the Eisteddfod, we are proud to contribute to the schools’ ongoing commitment to Welsh language, heritage and community cohesion. Events like this play a vital role in bringing people together and nurturing a shared sense of identity.

Chairing of the Bardd
Among an impressive display of talent, one young poet was honoured with the prestigious title of Bardd.
Congratulations to Georgiana Bouse of Bedlinog Primary School, whose winning poem, “I Long to Go Back to Wales,” beautifully captured the deep emotional connection to Wales and the powerful sense of hiraeth. Her work stood out for its grace, sensitivity and authenticity.
A Proud Moment for All
We extend our congratulations to Georgiana and to every pupil who contributed to making this year’s Eisteddfod such a success. Their enthusiasm, creativity and hard work made the event truly unforgettable.
