What is WHQS 2023?
In October 2023, the WG introduced a new set of standards for social housing in Wales. It focusses on providing tenants with affordable housing of good quality, suitable for the needs of existing and future residents.
For us to meet the WG standards, your homes must:
- Be in good condition.
- Be safe and secure.
- Not cost too much to heat. And not be bad for the environment.
- Have an up-to-date kitchen and utility area.
- Have an up-to-date bathroom.
- Comfortable and suit the person living there.
- Have a garden if possible.
- Have a nice outside space if possible.
There are a range of timescales that we need to meet. Once we have finalised out timetable, we will share this with you.
One thing that we do know is….we need your help. You, our tenants, are the most important people to us. We want you to get involved in help us in rolling out these investments in your homes, helping to understand how new standards have made a difference to you or any challenges that these have presented you.
